Our First Aid/CPR/AED training teaches you to save lives. We offer a variety of National Safety Council courses, including instructor training designed especially for workplace settings. We also distribute customized first aid kits and state-of-the art Philips automated external defibrillators (AEDs)—ranked the simplest and easiest to use.
Our program includes AED installation and training.
Training at Your Location: First Aid/CPR/AED
Onsite training. If you need to train four or more employees, we can offer a class just for you, at our location or
yours. Course materials are the same for on-site training as for our regular
classes.
Member tuition:
Full-day class, First Aid/CPR/AED: (includes all training materials): $525 for the first 1-10 participants; $45 per person after the first 10.
Half-day class, First Aid only or CPR/AED only: (includes all training materials): $425 for the first 1-10
participants; $45 per person after the first 10.
Non-member tuition:
Full-day class: $625 for the first 1-10 participants; $55 per person after the first 10.
Half-day class: $525 for the first 1-10 participants; $55 per person after the first 10.
Course Descriptions
First Aid/CPR/AED Full-Day Class
Be prepared and be in compliance. Learn the skills to maintain the life of a victim until emergency medical personnel arrive. The National Safety Council First Aid course provides up-to-date training in basic First Aid including bloodborne pathogens and CPR techniques. First Aid training covers the basics: emergency scene assessment, breathing emergencies, sudden illness and injury, bleeding and preventing disease transmission. The CPR portion covers basic life support, emergency scene assessment, CPR and rescue breathing and choking. The AED segment covers operating characteristics of AEDs — and shows proper precautions and maintenance techniques. This course meets and exceeds 2015 AHA guidelines and OSHA training requirements. Upon course completion, you will receive National Safety Council First Aid and CPR certificates valid for two years each.
First Aid-only (half-day)
This 3 ½ hour National Safety Council program meets and exceeds the 2015 AHA guidelines and meets OSHA requirements. It teaches how to recognize everyday emergencies and provide care until professional help arrives. The course covers heart attack , chest pain, bleeding, wound care, shock, burns, poisoning, cold and heat emergencies, sudden illness, bone, joint and muscle injures and preventing disease transmission. Upon course completion, participants receive National Safety Council's First Aid certificate, which is valid for 2 years.
CPR/AED-only (half-day)
This 3 ½ hour National Safety Council program meets and exceeds the 2015 AHA guidelines and meets OSHA requirements. It covers CPR, choking, bloodborne pathogens and use of an AED. If it's time to certify CPR/AED skills, this course can help. Upon course completion, participants receive National Safety Council's CPR/AED certificate, which is valid for 2 years.
First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Development Training
This revised two day instructor development course is designed to prepare participants to teach First Aid CPR/AED using the latest methods and materials from the National Safety Council's Emergency Care Program. This course is perfect for organizations that regularly train people in First Aid and CPR/AED and are looking for the most current and effective training program available.
Hands-Only CPR for Everyone!
In response to a growing need, we developed a new course that teaches hands-only CPR and AED use in less than two hours — an opportunity for your entire staff to learn lifesaving skills.
Course content:
- How to recognize a medical emergency and act appropriately
- Hands-only CPR for an adult, child and infant
- Choking relief
- Using an AED
Each participant will receive the National Safety Council First Aid Quick Guide. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment and are ideal for those people who want to learn CPR and do not need a course completion card. Member cost: $250 for the first 1-10 participants and $20 per person after the first ten, up to 30 per class. Non-member cost: $325 for the first 1-10 participants and $20 per person after the first ten, up to 30 per class.
AEDs. More and more employers are becoming aware of the importance of installing an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the workplace, but many are unsure about how to proceed. We can help employers
assess their situation and provide subsequent training in the use of AEDs and in first aid/CPR.
