Who should attend? Employees and employers covered by the 1910.120 (HAZWOPER) standard that are required to take the initial HAZWOPER training which consists of either a 24-hour or 40-hour course. This eight-hour workshop fills the annual training requirement for responders to chemical emergencies in 1910.120(q).
Recommended for operations level responders, hazardous materials technicians, specialists and incident commanders.
Video and audio capabilities are required for this training.
Topics include: implementation of emergency response plans and incident command systems, basic chemical and toxicological terminology and behavior, classification and identification of unknown materials, hazard and risk assessment techniques, uses of field survey instruments and equipment, selection and use of specialized chemical personal protective equipment, response tactics, decontamination of personnel and equipment.
