Machine Guarding

Machine guarding violations rank among the most frequent and costly OSHA citations each year - more than 7,000 citations and $6 million in penalties in 2004-05. Injuries related to guarding can also be devastating to your employees.

You'll learn the basic concepts, principles and methods of machine guarding, common causes of machine injuries, and the details of Subpart O.

After completing this workshop, attendees can:
  • Understand the key elements of the OSHA Machine Guarding rules (Sub.O).
  • Assess and identify hazards, and determine what type of guarding is necessary.
  • Prevent machine-related injuries and associated costs, including OSHA citations.
